Cape Classic for children
“Those who educate children well are more to be honoured than they who produce them; for these only gave them life, those the art of living well.”
Aristotle.
A study by the German Ministry of Education and Science about the influence of musical education on children concluded: “Music increases the IQ of children
as well as their social competence. Kids who receive music lessons will show more emotional stability and have clearly increased powers of concentration
and higher levels of intelligence.”
This is why Cape Classic supports the education of black children in Kayamandi by contributing to the funding of a pre-school facility and a music school. In 2006
Cape Classic bought instruments and paid the salaries of three music teachers at the “iKhaya Music Project” in Kayamandi.

The future revenues of Cape Classic will continue to contribute to the development of this worthwhile project. Every year, Cape Classic also provides musical
workshops with Kayamandi children. In these workshops, the artists try to awaken an interest for classical music in the children by demonstrating the use
of their instruments, answering questions and making music with the children.
