Florian Heidenreich

Born near Munich, Florian Heidenreich grew up with the deep sound of a double bass. He continued the family tradition, being the third generation to play the double bass. He received his first lessons from his grandfather and father, and later studied at the Conservatory of Augsburg and at the HdK in Berlin.

As a recipient of an award from the Herbert von Karajan Stiftung of the Berlin Philharmonic, he completed his studies as a double bass player. In 1994 Florian became a member of the orchestra of the Deutsche Oper Berlin. For the last twenty years, Florian has been performing with the famous orchestra of the Wagner Festival in Bayreuth. Apart from performing in a big orchestra, Florian always had an immense interest in chamber music. In 1999 he was nominated 'Kammermusiker' at the Deutschen Oper Berlin by the Berlin Senate, but he also performs as a successful soloist
