Kirsikka de Leval Jezierski

Kirsikka de Leval Jezierski was born in Finland, where she started to play violin in the young age of only five. Later she changed the instrument and played the viola. As a youngster, she took part in several competitions successfully. Between 1990 and 1997, she studied at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki and continued her studies later with Prof. Tabea Zimmermann at the Academy of Music and Performance in Frankfurt.

Kirsikka de Leval Jezierski also studied at the Karajan Academy of the Berlin Philharmonic for two years. During that time she performed as a soloist in the Jungen Deutschen Philharmonic as well as with many other chamber music ensembles. She was also part of the Radiosinfonieorchester of Hesse and performed as a temporary viola player in the Berlin Philharmonic as well as in the Opera of Berlin on a regular basis. Since 2003 Kirsikka has been an assistant soloist with the Deutschen Oper Berlin.
