Mathias Feger
viola

Mathias Feger studied the viola with Professor Jürgen Kussmaul in Düsseldorf from 1991 until 2000 after he had already learned both piano and violin. He performed as a member of the European Community Youth Orchestra under Vladimir Ashkenazy, Carlo Maria Giulini, Bernard Haitink and Mstislav Rostropovitsch. His career as a soloist was enhanced by many masterclass performances arranged by Thomas Riebl, Serge Collot and Tabea Zimmerman.
Besides playing the first viola for the Philharmonic Orchestra of Duisberg, Feger also performs in various ensembles playing early music. These ensembles include “Musica Antiqua Köln”, “Archibudelli” and “Lyriarte”. As part of these groups, Feger has performed in many European countries, as well as in the United States and South-East Asia.
