Ulf Prelle
Violoncello

Ulf Prelle started his violoncello studies with the La Salle Quartet and Zara Nelsova in the United States. He also studied with Thomas Demenga in Bern (Switzerland) and Boris Pergamentschikow in Cologne. Later he obtained a bursary to continue his studies with the Berliner Philharmonics in the Karajan Academy.
He received many awards and he performed as a soloist with the Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra and the Baseler Symphony Orchestra. Ulf Prelle has been asked to take part in many national and international concerts for chamber music. In 1990 was awarded the S. Barchet-Wettbewerb in Stuttgart.
Since 1992 he plays as the first solo violoncello player at the Dresdner Philharmonic. He is one of the founding members of the Carus Ensemble and is a lecturer for violoncello, chamber music and didactic at the Conservatory Carl-Maria von Weber in Dresden.
